Suffolk Stud Sires
Bunderra Suffolk Stud Sires
At Bunderra Suffolks we have a select number of stud sires on property that we have purchased or bred to be used in our Suffolk Stud breeding program.
Our stud sire rams are selected for our breeding program based on specific breeding objectives to achieve the overall desired direction of the stud.
Our overall aim is to breed; true to type, structurally well-balanced animals with excellent temperament.
Here are the current Bunderra Stud Sires.
Blue Rock 21-0577
We purchased ‘Bluey’ from the Blue Rock Suffolk stud after seeing him at the Kyneton Suffolk Auction. This ram has lovely thick bone which are hoping to breed into our stud. We have joined him to our 2021 drop ewes and have had some gorgeous solid little lambs this year. Looking forward to seeing how they progress through the season.
Sayla Park 200018
200018 was purchased at the Bendigo Elites Suffolk Auction in 2021. He was the top priced Suffolk ram at the sale and has an incredible carcass. We were instantly drawn to his meaty rump and are looking forward to him bringing some oomph into our breeding program, particularly in the backend.
Allanwood 190030
We purchased ‘Allan’ from the Allanwood Suffolk stud after he won the 2020 Suffolk Virtual Show. This ram is a big meaty ram that, in the short amount of time that we have owned him, has already put on an incredible amount of size. We are planning to put him over our biggest Suffolk ewes this year and we are excited to see his progeny.
Otto 1716 – Otto
Otto 1716 was purchased at the 2020 Otto annual Ram sale. We were immediately drawn to his handsome, well-structured appearance and he went on to fetch the top price at this sale. We are really looking forward to seeing his progeny when we join him with our Suffolk ewes this year.
All Black – Moondara
All Black was purchased in 2019 from the Moondara Suffolk Stud and is a handsome meaty ram. All Black is from the Coleford ‘Kiwi’ bloodline that was imported into Australia from New Zealand. We took this ram to the Kyneton Show and he won his class in the interbreed meat sheep category aswell as Reserve Champion Ram of the Show.
Sun of Gun – Moondara
Sun of Gun was purchased in 2017 from the Moondara Suffolk Stud and has been one of our main stud sires for the past few years. Sun of Gun is from the Bowen ‘Gun’ bloodline and is a beautiful, well structured ram with an excellent temperament.
